Blogger Bio Series #9 ~ Manicurator

Hello Berry Patch!  I am super excited for today’s interview, because it’s with one of my favorite nail bloggers.  Victoria is the amazing polisher behind the blog Manicurator.  I am always drooling over her gorgeous mani pictures that always look flawless.  Not only that, her designs are always creative and clean.  She even participates in my Fan Foto Fridays on my blog Facebook page – it’s so cool that she takes the time to do that every week :)  She really is a true nail polish blogger, so if you are looking for other cosmetic reviews, you won’t find that here (which definitely works for me since that’s all I do too :)  She posts almost every day (I don’t know how she does it?!) and her reviews aren’t too long.  So you all need to go over and check her out!

1.  First of all, what are you wearing on your toes and/or fingernails right now?

  • Oh man…{embarrassed} my toes have been bare since I started blogging! :( I used to NEVER have bare toes. I’d better rectify that. Just in time for socks and cold weather. Better late than never, right? Right now, I have swatches of a trial design for my first attempt at “tribal” nail art.
2.  Take us back to the beginning – how did you first start wearing nail polish consistently?
  • Oh I wore nail polish since as early as I can remember..probably 6 or so. I was always a girly girl and into makeup and nail polish!  When I got pregnant with twins, I was at a **coughs** later age..so I was considered a high risk pregnancy on two counts. I stopped wearing nail polish, lotions, perfumes…basically avoided anything with chemicals that I could. No need to add to my risk factor. When the boys were approaching 3 yrs old..I said to myself IT’S TIME to get my girl back on :D
3.  How did you decide to start a nail polish blog?
  • Since I had two toddlers at home, it was not an easy task going makeup/nail polish shopping so I discovered nail polish blogs for swatches to help me decide which ones to buy. I FELL IN LOVE. And was transfixed by the nail art scene. After a few months of spending every spare moment on the blogs..I just went for it and started my own :)
4.  How do you friends and family respond to the size your nail polish collection obviously has to be as a blogger?
  • Well, the only one who reeeeally knows is my husband (and even he doesn’t know because he doesn’t go through my Helmer(s)!! And he is amazingly supportive <3
5.  What is the funniest or most interesting way a stranger has reacted to one of your manicures?
  • HA!! We had a burly former body guard contractor at the house a month or so ago. He noticed my PINK leopard nails and told me he really liked them :D

6.  What is your favorite nail polish trend, past or present?

  • Hmm does nail art count as a trend? I can’t get enough ombre or gradient nails.
7.  Do you have a polishing pet peeve you see other polishers doing?
  • Uh. There’s the obvious, not cleaning up polish that gets on skin/cuticles. And then there’s nails that aren’t filed consistently…like one nail is square and another is rounded.
8.  Please give our readers your favorite nail care tip:
  • OIL THOSE NAILS!
9.  If you were stranded on a deserted island and could on have 3 polishes with you, what would they be and why (color names and brands please)?
  • Seriously? Isn’t this question TOO hard for a nail blogger? :P   Hmm Chanel Pirate, Nail-Venturous Robin Laid an Egg, Rescue Beauty Lounge Mismas. And Bobbi Brown Turquoise!! Please let me have 4 :D
10.  And finally, if you were asked to name a berry-colored polish, what would you call it?
  • Berrifically Juicy
Yay, that was great!  I never paint my toes either (I really just don’t like my feet in general)  and it’s nice to know that she has a hubby who is supportive of her polishing addiction, haha :)  Alright, so now it’s time for you to head on over to her blog at http://www.manicurator.com/ or you can check out her Facebook page.  You can also get to her blog from my “Blogs” page.  And as always, if you are a blogger who would like to participate or a fan who would like to see a particular blogger interviewed, please email me or comment on this post :)  {My email is listed in the info section of my Facebook page}.

Thanks for reading, I post every Sunday, Wednesday and occasionally on Fridays.  And please don’t forget to “like” my Facebook page www.facebook.com/BerryPolished for extra news!  I also have a Tumblr and a “nail ideas” board on Pinterest.com under the user name “berrybear”.

What a brilliant idea, to do bio’s on the bloggers! When I become a veteran blogger and not a newbie any more, maybe I’ll be able to have a bio done too. :0)

What an awesome idea, to do Bio’s on the bloggers. When I grow up and am as good as the veteran bloggers (probably a long time from now, lol) and not a newbie any more, maybe I’ll have my bio done. :0)
